This policy describes what data is collected and how it is used when you use the IUCOSOFT Books mobile app, developed by IUCOSOFT Junior / IUCOSOFT SRL ("we", "us").

The app has no user account, login, or personal session. The app's flow is: you scan a QR code → the app reads the associated material (video, audio, image, or text) from the server and plays it directly, without downloading or saving it on the device.

1. What data we collect

1.1 Data we do NOT collect

• We do not ask for or store your name, email address, phone number, account, or password.
• We do not access your contacts, photo gallery, location, or microphone.
• We do not use cookies (the app is not a website).
• We do not use advertising SDKs, cross-app tracking, or third-party analytics (e.g. Google Analytics, Facebook SDK, Firebase Analytics) — none are integrated into the app.

1.2 Camera permission

The app requests camera access solely to scan the QR code. The video image captured by the camera is processed locally, on the device, only while you are scanning — it is never stored, recorded, or sent to the server. The only thing sent onward is the text read from the QR code (an opaque identifier of the material), not the image itself.

1.3 Technical data automatically sent to the server

With every request to the server (to display a material's metadata or to stream/play a file), the app automatically sends a minimal set of technical information:

• device platform (Android/iOS) and device type (phone/tablet);
• operating system version;
• installed app version;
• IP address — automatically collected by any web server, as part of standard access logs (it is not read or explicitly processed by the app, but by the server infrastructure).

This data is used exclusively to:

• identify the app (not the user) to the server, through an internal technical header;
• access logs / aggregate statistics on material usage (e.g. how many times a given material was accessed, from which device types) — not to build a profile of a specific person.

There is no persistent user identifier (we do not use an advertising ID, and we do not generate or store a unique identifier per person).

1.4 System permissions related to media playback

The app may request, at the operating system level, technical permissions required by the native audio/video playback components used for playback (e.g. access to audio settings, running as a foreground service to continue audio playback). These permissions are requested by the media playback libraries and are not used to record sound via the microphone — the app has no audio recording feature.

2. Streaming, not downloading

Materials (video, audio, image, text) are played directly by streaming from the server. The app does not download or save files to the device's storage.

3. Screenshot protection

The material playback screen attempts to prevent screenshots and screen recording:

• on Android, this is effectively blocked at the system level;
• on iOS, Apple does not provide any public API that would guarantee blocking screenshots — protection is on a best-effort basis, not an absolute guarantee.

4. Sharing data with third parties

We do not sell or share the data described above with third parties for marketing or advertising purposes. Technical access data (section 1.3) is processed by the infrastructure hosting the service (server/hosting) strictly for the app's operation and security.

5. Data security

Communication between the app and the server is encrypted (HTTPS/TLS). The app identifies itself to the server via a technical key embedded in the app — this identifies the app, not a person, and is not used as a user authentication mechanism.

6. Use by minors

The app may be used by middle school and high school students, in the context of IUCOSOFT Junior educational materials. We do not intentionally collect personal data from minors — the data described in section 1 is limited to technical information necessary for the app to function, not to identifying a person.
